Debaty Tischnerowskie to seria dyskusji organizowanych na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim przez Katedrę im. Erazma z Rotterdamu UW i Instytut Nauk o Człowieku z Wiednia. Debaty są wyrazem szacunku i pamięci dla ks. Józefa Tischnera, członka pierwszej Rady Katedry. Ich zadaniem jest stawianie pytań i dyskusja o najważniejszych problemach współczesnej demokracji. Biorą w nich udział światowej sławy intelektualiści, naukowcy oraz politycy.
In 2005, the IWM and Warsaw University have jointly launched a series of public debates: in memory of Polish priest and philosopher Jozef Tischner, founding president of the IWM, politicians, scholars and intellectuals discuss pertinent contemporary issues. The Tischner Debates have been sponsored by the City of Warsaw (2005 and 2008), the bank Citi Handlowy (2008), the oil company Orlen (2006 and 2007). In 2008 media partners are the TV channel TVN24; the daily Gazeta Wyborcza; the internet provider Onet.pl; and the first and second program of the Polish Broadcasting Corporation.
